to promote sports, teamwork, and personal growth among children in Northern Uganda. Played every Sunday at Gulu Remand Home, the league provides a safe, fun, and empowering platform for children to express their passion for football and develop life skills through sport.
The league features three age categories: Under 10, Under 13, and Under 16. In the most recent edition, 224 children participated, including 31 girls, 198 boys, 38 refugee children from neighboring South Sudan, and 3 children living with disabilities. The league is supported by 20 dedicated volunteers. Each age group is made up of spirited and competitive teams. Under 10 and Under 13 teams include: Kumalo Sports Club, Young Stars, Forum Sport, and The Legendary Brothers. Under 16 teams include: Kumalo Sports Club and Young Stars. Kumalo Sport League is more than just football. It is a symbol of inclusion, hope, and community. Through this league, Nyero Foundation continues to build a brighter and healthier future for children across the region.
