For the past five years, our weekly community football league has been a cornerstone of our efforts to foster inclusion, reconciliation, and camaraderie among players from all walks of life. Every Sunday, rain or shine, children from the community gather to participate in competition matches, forming bonds that transcend differences and disabilities.
What sets our league apart is its commitment to inclusivity. We welcome children of all abilities, creating a safe and supportive environment where everyone can enjoy the beautiful game of football and basketball. Whether they’re kicking a ball for the first time or honing their skills on the pitch, every child is valued and celebrated for their unique talents and contributions.
Over the years, our league has grown exponentially, with over 500 children now registered to participate. Week by week, new faces join the ranks, eager to experience the joy of playing football and basketball and building lasting friendships. At the end of each season, we recognize the outstanding players with trophies and personal awards, celebrating their dedication and achievements on the field.
But our league is about more than just football and basketball. It’s a platform for us to connect with children and learn their stories. Many of the beneficiaries of our other programs were first identified through the league, highlighting its role as a gateway to broader support and opportunities for those in need.
At Nyero Foundation, we believe in the transformative power of sports to unite communities, inspire positive change, and unlock potential. Join us in making a difference, one kick at a time. Together, we can create a brighter future for all.
