Okello Stephen is a resilient and talented young boy in Primary Seven at Kims Christian School. He lives in Pece Tegwana with his single mother, who does casual labor to support him and his three siblings. Stephen lost his father at an early age, which placed a heavy burden on the family.
At one point, Stephen dropped out of school and joined a group of street children, collecting plastics to survive. However, through the timely intervention of the Nyero Foundation, he was able to return to school, and he is now steadily catching up academically.
Stephen is also a highly talented footballer, playing as an attacker for Kumalo Sports Club. His passion and skill on the pitch have earned him admiration, and he dreams of playing professional football at the highest level in the future.
Stephen’s journey is a powerful example of transformation, made possible through opportunity, mentorship, and support. He continues to work hard toward a brighter future, both in school and on the football field.
