DESCRIPTION:The Dong Acoli Cup is a regional grassroots football tournament
  held in Northern Uganda\, particularly among communities in the Acholi sub
 -region. It was established to promote unity\, peace\, and youth developmen
 t through football\, especially in areas that were heavily affected by past
  conflict.\nThe competition mainly features teams composed of young players
  and local community sides\, providing them with a platform to showcase the
 ir talent and engage in organized sport. Matches are usually played during 
 festive periods\, attracting large crowds and strong community support.\nBe
 yond football\, the Dong Acoli Cup plays an important social role by bringi
 ng people together\, encouraging reconciliation\, and strengthening cultura
 l identity among the Acholi people. It also helps in identifying talented p
 layers who can progress to higher levels of the game within Uganda’s foot
 ball structure.
